What is dual enrollment?

Dual Enrollment is a process through which a high school student takes one or more courses from a state public or private postsecondary institution and receives credit at the high school and at the postsecondary institution. See Debbie Howard, Counselor,  for additional questions.

Dual Enrollment with Georgia Tech
Rising seniors who have taken AP Calculus and who qualify will be able to apply to Georgia Tech to take Calculus II and Calculus III.  Deadline to apply for the fall semester is May 1, 2010. Please be sure to adhere to the deadlines and timeliness provided by Georgia Tech.  Applications are           available online at www.apply.gatech.edu.  For additional information about the admissions process, go to www.admiss.gatech.edu/dcp. What is "Move on When Ready"?
House Bill 149 (Move on When Ready) is an arrangement whereby an eligible student entering 11th or 12th grade who spent the prior school year in attendance at a public high school in Georgia may take all of his or her courses at or through an eligible institution or a virtual course approved by the State Board of Education and receive secondary credit from his or her high school with the goal of completing graduation and high school diploma requirements. What is ACCEL?
Accel is a non-need based grant program offered during the fall, winter, and spring terms for students that wish to take college-level  (academic-only, degree level) course-work for credit towards both high school and college graduation requirements.  Eligible students must meet certain criteria.  Please see Ms. Debbie Howard, Counselor, for additional questions.
